My name is Justin, welcome to “Fighting for Faith and Family”. I’m not your typical 40 something year old by most standards. I was born and raised in NW Louisiana and where I live currently. I’ve actually never lived more than 5 miles from the house I was raised in. I spent 20 years of adulthood as an atheist, however in 2018 I accepted Jesus as my personal savior, resulting in a lot of changes within my life and those around me. My wife Kayla and I have 7 kids, I am a career firefighter with 24 years of service, and I serve on various teams within our church. My testimony is unique and more like a roller coaster compared to many “lifers”, as I call them (those who accepted Christ early in life and continued onward with that foundation). My family has a little homestead riddled with animals that we raise (yes we eat them, too) and a large garden that we tend to.
I love family time and enjoy everything outdoors! Hunting, fishing, golfing, camping, hiking, boating, swimming, shooting, and anything else involving being in nature. I also have a passion for cooking, writing, creating art, building things, and sharing my experiences with others. My brain basically never stops and that makes focusing on one thing pretty hard. Hopefully this platform and blogging will control a few of those interests. I’ll try not to scare you off by being all over the place.
That’s not near what I can tell you about myself, so stick around if you’re interested in more!
